3D CAD of all component parts in a product assembly is used initially to produce presentation models in stereo lithography. This in turn can test product assembly and function prior to tooling investment. A combination of 2D and 3D CAD can then be used by the manufacturer to produce the final assembly.
Additionally, Finite Element Analysis may be used to test the theoretical structural qualities of a design, allowing the client total peace of mind regarding the durability and predicted performance of their product.
